Car alignment is absolutely crucial when modifying your car. Alignment can effect every aspect of your driving experience, from straight line stability, understeer, oversteer, acceleration, braking and tire wear. Although stock components allow slight alignments from the stock suspension settings, they often are not able to properly align the car after the suspension has been modified. From the factory, most cars are set to have understeer and for optimum tire wear at stock height; understeer is often undesired from a performance standpoint and almost all performance driven applications are lowered.

Megan Racing Inc. has developed reinforced and adjustable control arms to accommodate the needs of the aggressive and performance oriented tuner. Being constructed of a Lightweight Steel-Alloy which is able to withstand the stresses of extreme competition, these arms are powdercoated with a 3-Stage process to ensure durability and protection against the elements.

These rear traction rods available for the SC300 and Supra chassis are an excellent upgrade. With it s adjustability you are able to carefully tune the vehicle s rear suspension to your specifications. The pillowball ends replace the stock rubber bushings on the chassis and offers you a more direct and predictable feel that you require in competition. The adjustability and feel is also backed with the comfort that your stock thin tension rods are now replaced with thick steel constructed arms that can withstand the stresses of competition.

These Traction rods also allow for fine-tuned adjustments to the rear suspension geometry. By changing the length of the traction rod you change the position and pitch of which the suspension rotates upon and you change the amount of "Anti-Squat" of the rear. Although the adjustment is minimal, it can change the behavior or the vehicle during weight transfer.

Application: SC300/400/93+ Supra

Features- Constructed of Steel Alloy for Lightweight yet Durable performance.- Hard Rubber bushings for a more direct feel and driving experience.- Easy to access turnbuckle-style adjustment.- Can be adjusted without removing from the vehicle.

It is now mandatory only for newly registered licence plates bearing three initials (BAA and above) to be replaced with the controversial 'small size' plates after serious reconsideration following public bashing.

Vehicles with one and two initials are not obliged to change their licence plates.

This was indicated in a statement released by the Land Transport Department (LTD) yesterday.
The new plates are made of smaller letters and numbers while their surface is embossed with material made from aluminium.

It falls under Vehicle Registration Plate 'Identification Marks' 2008 Act and Regulation under the Road Traffic Act, Chapter 68 on May 1, 2010.

The press release stated, "The act is enforced with the main aim for licence plates bearing three initials only, which is in accordance with the shape and size of plates in all Asean countries."

To ensure that the measurements are in line with the Act and Regulation, the department has now appointed seven local companies to supply and manufacture the new vehicle registration plates, two of which have begun operations and five to be operational soon.

According to the press statement, the two companies are Syarikat Bayu Ilham Motor Sdn Bhd located at No 6, Spg 80-45, Jln Gadong, Kg Pengkalan Gadong and Hock Motor Company located at at No 19, Spg 21, Km 3, Jln Gadong.

Meanwhile, the other five companies that will be operational soon are PAT's Corporation (B) Sdn. Bhd., Zen view Sdn Bhd, PYB Transportation Services, CKM Transportation Services and Syarikat Shalim (B) Sdn. Bhd.

The LTD also reminded the public to have their plates changed at these authorised shops.

Three of the modified vehicles which were impounded at a police station and will be sent to the Land Transport Department for further checks.

A show which featured seven modified vehicles at the National Stadium on Sunday came to an abrupt end when the Traffic Investigation and Control Department impounded the vehicles for being driven on public roads.

Acting on complaints from the public in the area, the traffic police seized the cars in an operation between 3.30pm and 6pm. Before the operation, a car drifting show took place during the event.

The illegally modified vehicles were not allowed to be driven on the roads and should have been ferried to the show's venue by a tow truck.

Acting Superintendent Mohd Hadini bin Hj Othman, the Head of Traffic Enforcement Division from Traffic Investigation and Control Department, said, "Based on the public complaints, our officers took action and brought the illegally modified vehicles back to the police station.

"The action taken was to safeguard motorists as well as pedestrians near the stadium. The cars will be sent to the Land Transport Department for inspection.

"Under the Road Traffic Act, Chapter 68 of Section 26, anyone found to have illegally modified vehicles for road use can face a fine up to $200 for the first offence and a $500 fine for the subsequent offence.

Acting Superintendent Mohd Hadini urged the public to comply with the rules and regulations of the Road Traffic Act as the police will not hesitate to take action against offenders in order to safeguard the public.

Customers (R) paying and registering for the new licence plates.
Company staff securing the new 'square' licence plate onto the vehicle.

All registered vehicle owners in the country will be required to switch to the new standardised licence plates through authorised companies by the beginning of next year, under the recently announced Land Transport Department (LTD) order.

In response to the order, car owners in the Belait District yesterday came in numbers to an LTD-appointed company to get their new licence plates.

To date, Thien Fang Tyre Company, which is located at Jln Jaya Negara Pandan 4, has received hundreds of orders for the new registration plates.

According to the staff, the company accepts the order after the owner completes and submits the form provided there. Each form is to be attached with relevant documents such as copies of blue cards and identity smart cards. The staff will contact the respective owners after around two weeks, when the plates are ready to be fitted onto the cars.

The company meanwhile advised vehicle owners not to wait until the end of this year to have their plates changed.

A survey at the premise yesterday found that the residents in the district took advantage of the lunch break to place orders for the plate change, bringing with them the necessary documents.

One senior citizen who wished to remain anonymous said the price for the plate change (front and rear) per vehicle was B$38, adding that he found the charge to be rather expensive for him, being a retiree.

Another car owner also found the cost of the service to be on the expensive side, saying he owns more than three cars and that some of his existing plates could still be used. He urged the relevant authorities to review the price since "not all car owners can afford to pay for it."

The new car registration plates are made from aluminum and come with the initials 'JPD' (Jabatan Pengangkutan Darat) which comes in two approved sizes: rectangular (17ins by 4.2ins) and square (9.7ins by 7.4 ins).

Plate colours are the usual white on black, white on green (commercial) and red on white.
