An accident involving two saloon cars happened along Jalan Setia Di-Raja Kuala Belait about 9am yesterday. One of the vehicles did not see the other car coming out of the junction which caused damages to the front part of both the vehicles.

Road covered in mud due to the landslip.Heavy rains that lashed the country until late in the evening yesterday washed up mud and debris on to the road near the Tiong Hua Cemetery at Sg Liang area leading to a minor accident between two cars. Both the cars tried to evade part of the road that had a thick layer of slush and ended up bumping into each other. The incident caused traffic congestion in the area.
Brunei has been experiencing wet weather conditions of late and the development of La Nina in the Pacific is likely to bring more rains to the Southeast Asian region. According to the Meteorological Department, more rains are expected today with the likelihood of flashfloods in low-lying areas high.

Traffic offenders being questioned by police personnel.Several errant motorists were slapped with compound fines and summons last night during a roadblock conducted along the Beribi-Kiulap link road.
The operation, which involved 17 traffic police officers, was led by Taun Haji Hadini and Stg Major Samsudin.
According to Tuan Haji Hadini, the operation was part of the continuous effort in promoting road safety in conjunction with His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's 64th birthday celebrations.
Among the offences spotted were: driving with expired road tax or driving licence and modification of car exhaust.

The car landed some 500 metres from the main road.
Samaritan shielding one of the victims from the scorching sun.Three Indian nationals were injured following a freak accident yesterday afternoon.
According to a witness, the accident occurred at about 2 pm along the Lumut bypass.
The saloon car veered off the road and landed in the bushes some 500 metres away from the main road after the driver lost control of his vehicle.
The three people were rushed to the Suri Seri Begawan hospital for medical attention.
Passers-by also lent a helping hand prior to the arrival of the ambulance.

Residents of Kg Rimba look at the car in the drain following the accidentResidents of Kampong Rimba were shocked yesterday when a road accident at noon claimed the life of a schoolboy, just shy of his 12th birthday.
The victim was identified as Yunus Hj Abd Rahman.
As he was trying to cross the road on his bicycle, a car reportedly slammed into him, sending him hurtling around 40 feet before landing by the roadside just after the Rimba Secondary School.
The boy was pronounced dead at the scene.
Official reports stated that the 21-year-old driver is now under Police custody for further investigation.
Eyewitness Haji Sabtu Hj Tamam, who was driving on the other lane, told the Borneo Bulletin that the driver apparently lost control of the car, swerved to the side and crashed into the boy that sent him hurtling in front of his eyes. The car then spun behind Haji Sabtu and ended up in the drainage.
Residents in the area recognised the schoolboy as he used to cycle to and from school everyday.
One of them said, "I always see the boy cycle along this road. He usually cycles when the traffic is less, which is around 1pm."
Another man told the Bulletin that regardless of rain or shine, the boy would be seen on his bicycle using the same route during school days.
Haji Sabtu also recalled seeing the boy once at the roadside fixing his bicycle's chain using a small adjustable spanner.
The Royal Brunei Police Force advised motorists to be vigilant and patient on the roads during rush hours and advised parents to keep an eye on their children at all times.
