One of the cars is badly damaged while the other lies upside down.

A man was killed in an accident at a four-way junction along the Seria highway yesterday afternoon. At press time, the police investigating officer was unable to confirm the identity of the deceased.

The accident reportedly occurred at about 5pm in the Lorong Tiga Selatan housing area in Seria, which is one of the many accident-prone areas in the district.

According to a witness, three vehicles including an SUV, a van and a saloon car were involved in the collision. A woman, who was driving the van and a man who drove the SUV vehicle are reportedly safe.

However, according to the witness, the male driver of the saloon vehicle succumbed to his injuries. Fire and Rescue personnel said the saloon vehicle overturned and trapped the driver inside.

Firefighters performed CPR in an effort to save the victim but in vain. The deceased was said to be a Chinese convert, added the witness.

Ten firefighters were deployed at the scene to carry out rescue work and the mishap yesterday caused traffic congestion along the highway.

Police are still investigating the cause of the accident.

Dato Paduka Lim Beng Thai in a group photo with the Russian Ambassador and invited guests as well as officials from Boustead.

The long-awaited Nissan MY11 R35 GT-R has finally touched down on Brunei's roads following a soft opening for public viewing yesterday at the showroom of Boustead Sdn Bhd in Jalan Beribi.

Present to unveil Nissan's super car was the Managing Director of Boustead, Dato Lim Beng Thai.

Among the crowd who witnessed the auspicious occasion were Mr Victor Seleznez, Russian Ambassador to Brunei; Mr Raymond Bariou from Baiduri Bank as well as officials from Boustead Sdn Bhd.

The new car launch was supposed to be a grand affair, however due to the Japanese earthquake and tsunami, the event was tuned down in light of the devastation and tragedy.

Dato Paduka Lim Beng Thai in his speech said, "It is unfortunate that there is a change from our initial plan for this launch in which Kazutoshi Mizuno san who is also known as the father of GT-R would not be able to attend and grace the ceremony. Mizuno san is not able to attend the event following the earthquake incident in Japan in which he is required to stay behind and assess the impact caused to GT-R related facilities."

He added that, "We are saddened by this unfortunate event that has happened."

Public viewing session of the three MY11 R35 GT-Rs will continue until today at the Boustead's showroom.
