A FATAL accident along Jalan Tengah in Seria town claimed the life of
a driver after his saloon car collided tragically with a cement mixer
truck.
According to a passerby who witnessed the incident, the saloon car
was heading straight towards Kuala Belait from Seria and drove at a
slightly fast pace. Upon reaching a junction ahead, another four-wheel
drive vehicle allegedly drove out of the junction making the saloon car
lose control. As the driver attempted to bring his car to a halt, it
instead shifted to the opposite side of the road and allegedly collided
with the cement truck.

As soon as the Fire and Rescue Department and the Royal Brunei Police
Force (RBPF) received the emergency call, they quickly went to the
scene. The victim in the saloon car was pulled out by the Fire and
Rescue team and rushed to the Suri Seri Begawan Hospital via a Brunei
Shell Petroleum ambulance.
According to an official statement from the RBPF, the driver of the
saloon car was a male in his 30s; a permanent resident of Brunei
Darussalam and suffered fatal injuries.
The truck driver is a foreigner in his 40s and did not suffer from
any injuries. The accident is currently still undergoing police
investigation.
