Heavy rains that lashed the country until late in the evening yesterday washed up mud and debris on to the road near the Tiong Hua Cemetery at Sg Liang area leading to a minor accident between two cars. Both the cars tried to evade part of the road that had a thick layer of slush and ended up bumping into each other. The incident caused traffic congestion in the area.

Brunei has been experiencing wet weather conditions of late and the development of La Nina in the Pacific is likely to bring more rains to the Southeast Asian region. According to the Meteorological Department, more rains are expected today with the likelihood of flashfloods in low-lying areas high.
