The stolen car was recovered in Miri.


A man who test drove a Subara WRX at a used car dealer in KB and vanished with the vehicle Wednesday afternoon was arrested by the police within 24 hours.


CID police unit from Kuala Belait and Seria station arrested the Bruneian suspect, aged 35, yesterday at the compound of a house in Kg Tunggulian, Sungai Liang.


He was apprehended at about 2.30pm in the afternoon yesterday, the Bulletin was informed.


However, the owner of the used car dealer said the vehicle was found at a workshop in Miri, Sarawak yesterday afternoon.


There was also a record that the suspect crossed the border immediately after he disappeared with the vehicle.


When asked whether the suspect was involved in a car theft syndicate, the police said that he was acting on his own.


However, the police are continuing their investigation.


The vehicle that was stolen and recovered across the border was on sale for B$29,800.


The act was recorded on a surveillance video set up at the business premises in Kg Pandan.
