Cars are checked during the roadblock.

Eighteen cases of traffic violations were found during a surprise roadblock conducted by the Traffic Investigation and Control Department Monday night.

Of the total, eight were summon cases for expired road tax and driving licence, as well as illegal car modification, while another 10 were compound cases.

A total of 15 police personnel took part in the operation led by Corporal 3135 Mohammad.

The roadblock was meant to enforce the Road Traffic Act and to educate members of the public on road safety awareness. Members of the public are urged to comply with the rules and regulations of the Road Traffic Act as the police will not hesitate to take action against offenders.
