Police issuing summons to traffic offenders at Jln Tengah in Seria yesterday.

A major roadblock was set up along Jalan Tengah in Seria yesterday morning, organised by a joint operation between Belait's RBPF Traffic Control and Investigations Department in Panaga, Seria, Kuala Belait, Labi and Sungai Liang.

Led by District Traffic Officer in Belait DSP Roziawatty binti Hj Abd Rahman, the roadblock checked on expired road tax, driving without a licence, safety belt usage, illegally modified vehicles and other traffic offences.

Seven motorists were issued with compound fines or summons for a court appearance after the traffic police operation in Belait yesterday.

Two court summons were issued to motorists for using the mobile phone while driving and also for driving without a valid driving licence.

Five compound cases involved a motorist jumping the red light, three drivers with faulty brake lights and one case of faulty indicators. Nineteen notices of warnings were also issued for various traffic offences. The roadblock was carried out from 9am to 11am yesterday.
