Enforcement officers from the Land Transport Department (LTD) conducted spot checks on commercial vehicles at Mile 1, Jln Tutong yesterday morning.

The operation, which started at 9am, comprised of a team of personnel conducting spot checks on many vehicles, out of which 27 compound fines were issued to the errant drivers for violating road and traffic regulations.

Offences included carrying excessive loads, driving with bald tyres, malfunctioning headlamps and reflectors, speed limit signs not being affixed and failing to posses commercial vehicle certificates such as road tax.
