Tracking device along the highway to alert road users to observe their speed limits.Speed cameras to catch speeding drivers

Instead of summons, traffic enforcement officers distributed leaflets in a joint roadblock operation at Anduki bypass to raise awareness on the Brunei Tell-A-Friend Road Safety campaign.

It aimed at the public's compliance to key five road safety actions: staying safe; wearing safety belt, obeying speed limits, having no mobile phone while driving, wearing a helmet while biking and using pedestrian crossings.

Also taking part in the joint operation were BSP and Land Transport Department enforcement officers from Bandar Seri Begawan.

Police and LTD set up speed traps and cameras to catch speeding drivers at KM21 and KM90 in Anduki from mid-morning till early afternoon yesterday.

Police and LTD inspected passenger and commercial vehicles'road-worthiness, drivers and passengers' safety; licence, roadtax, and overall car and passenger safety.

Leading the inspection was Awang Mohd Ismail bin Abdullah, Senior Inspector, Traffic and Control Division, Belait district. The LTD was led by Senior Enforcement Officer Haji Suaib bin Haji Md Taib.

Head of Emergency Response and Security Rosman bin Haji Abd Rahman led on behalf of BSP.
