The red colour car hit the lamppost which fell across the lane leading to a two-car collision. Two-car collision triggered by the lamppost.

It could really be called a freak accident. An accident involving a car triggered a two-car collision in the opposite lane.

Three cars were involved in an accident yesterday along the Tutong-Muara highway and Muara-Tutong highway at Km102 Berakas Forest Recreation Park U-turn during a rainy day.

A motorist hit a lamppost, which left his car in a wreck.

"The car spun several times before hitting the lamppost and came to a halt at the divider safety grill," said a driver who witnessed the accident.

As the lamppost fell across the other lane of the highway, a woman driver hit the brake to avoid hitting the lamppost but the vehicle coming behind her was caught unawares.

The collision damaged both the vehicles.

However, both drivers did not sustain any injuries. The Fire and Rescue personnel were dispatched to the scene after a distress call was received at 8.07am.

Led by Acting ASO Yusof bin Hj Takong, two fire engines from Lambak Kanan Fire Station and Berakas Fire Station rushed to the scene with 10 personnel.
