A faulty wiring system in the engine was believed to be the cause of a fire involving a saloon vehicle yesterday. The Fire and Rescue Department received the distress call at 8.41 am, following which a fire truck (from Beribi) with six personnel led by ASO Hj Saman was dispatched to the scene in Kiarong. The fire, which resulted in $3,000 in damages, was extinguished before the arrival of fire personnel.
