A total of 52 traffic offenders were slapped with fines in the latest surprise roadblock conducted by the Royal Brunei Police Force at the Tungku Link Highway recently.

The operation, held from 9pm until 10.30pm, was led by Acting Superintendent Mohd Hadini bin Hj Othman, the Head of Traffic Enforcement Division, involved around 56 police personnel, managed to unearth 17 summon cases which included driving without a valid licence and driving with expired road tax. Meanwhile, 35 drivers were slapped with compound fines for various traffic offences.

Acting Superintendent Mohd Hadini during the roadblock said, "The roadblock was aimed to enforce traffic rules and regulations as well as to raise awareness and educate members of the public on road safety."
