Police personnel checking the validity of a vehicle road tax

Some 43 traffic offences were recorded in a surprise roadblock operation conducted by the Royal Brunei Police Force at the connecting road between the Kiulap roundabout and the Beribi roundabout, Tuesday night.

The two-hour-and-15-minute roadblock was conducted by a team of 33 police personnel, led by P/ASP Fathdillah Hj Abd Hamid, the Assistant Operation Officer of the Traffic Enforcement Division.

The 43 cases comprised 21 summons cases and 22 compound cases.

As crime preventive measure, police personnel also conducted checks on suspicious vehicles.

Among the offences recorded were driving without a licence, driving with an expired road tax and illegal plate numbers.

The Royal Brunei Police Force will continue to carry out roadblocks from time to time in order to uphold traffic rules and regulations and raise public awareness on road safety.
