Thirty-three enforcement officers from the Immigration and National Registration Department, Narcotics Control Bureau, Tutong District Office, and the Royal Customs and Excise Department worked together with the Royal Brunei Police Force late Tuesday night in a 'co-op operation', which focused on several areas in the Tutong District.

The operation began at 9pm and concluded seven hours later. Enforcement officers inspected retail shops and premises around Tanjong Maya, Penanjong and Binturan commercial premises.

A roadblock operation was also set up where seven road and traffic regulation offenders were compounded for various offences including illegal car modifications and expired road tax. The roadblock also caught a road user bringing alcoholic beverages more than the allowed quantity.

The case was handed over to the Royal Customs and Excise officers.

The commercial premises operation caught an Indonesian national for failing to produce legal documents along with an expired identification card since 2008.

Employers are reminded to prepare legal documents for their employees for the convenience of enforcement officers when conducting inspections.
