The Royal Brunei Police Force has recorded a total of 33 road accidents in the first four days of Hari Raya.

Fortunately, there were no fatalities.

Meanwhile, 15 break-ins and thefts were recorded in the first five days of the festive celebrations.

In light of the high rate of accidents and the number of break-ins as well as thefts, the police have reminded road users to drive safely and comply with traffic regulations and take safety precautions before leaving houses.

Road users have also been advised not to beat red lights as it can be very dangerous to other road users and be ready to stop when traffic lights change to amber.

As road safety is every road user's responsibility, everyone should exercise more care, caution and consideration at all times.

The police also advised the public to always make sure that all doors and windows are secured and locked when they leave their houses.
They were also urged to keep their valuables in a safe and secure place.
