The long-awaited Nissan MY11 R35 GT-R has finally touched down on Brunei's roads following a soft opening for public viewing yesterday at the showroom of Boustead Sdn Bhd in Jalan Beribi.
Present to unveil Nissan's super car was the Managing Director of Boustead, Dato Lim Beng Thai.
Among the crowd who witnessed the auspicious occasion were Mr Victor Seleznez, Russian Ambassador to Brunei; Mr Raymond Bariou from Baiduri Bank as well as officials from Boustead Sdn Bhd.
The new car launch was supposed to be a grand affair, however due to the Japanese earthquake and tsunami, the event was tuned down in light of the devastation and tragedy.
Dato Paduka Lim Beng Thai in his speech said, "It is unfortunate that there is a change from our initial plan for this launch in which Kazutoshi Mizuno san who is also known as the father of GT-R would not be able to attend and grace the ceremony. Mizuno san is not able to attend the event following the earthquake incident in Japan in which he is required to stay behind and assess the impact caused to GT-R related facilities."
He added that, "We are saddened by this unfortunate event that has happened."
Public viewing session of the three MY11 R35 GT-Rs will continue until today at the Boustead's showroom.
