The "Brunei Bike Week 2011" was officially launched by Dato Paduka Hj Jemat bin Hj Ampal, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Youth & Sports (2nd photo) last night at the Jerudong Park Amphitheatre.

Organised by the Independant Motorcycle Club (IMC) and LeadingEdge Marketing and Management Services Sdn Bhd, the "Brunei Bike Week 2011" is expected to draw in approximately 30,000 people from across the four districts of Brunei, as well as those from neighbouring countries. The event will run for three days.

Members of the public are invited to join in on the festivities, which will feature, among other things, motorcycle races, cultural shows, games and live entertainment from 10am to 10pm.

Besides promoting travel and tourism in Brunei, the "Brunei Bike Week 2011" will also see charitable activities to help raise money for Smarter Brunei.

Tourism Brunei, which is supporting the event, is also taking this opportunity to promote its 'Kenali Negara Kitani' (KNK) initiative, as part of an effort to encourage more Bruneians to support domestic tourism and local events.
